New Undergraduate Students
Welcome to the Faculty of Social Sciences!
As a first-year student, you probably have questions about academic learning, the services offered by the Faculty and much more. This summer, we are offering activities to help you prepare for the fall of 2021. Some of the activities will be offered in a bimodal format: there will be both virtual and face-to-face spaces available on campus. Whichever option you choose, rest assured that you will have the tools you need for the Fall!

Summer Orientation: July 14 to August 20
Summer Orientation is an opportunity to learn more about uOttawa and what's in store for your student journey. We'll answer your questions and help you get acquainted with our services before classes start. Follow this link to register: https://www.uottawa.ca/get-started/orientation
Mandatory information sessions for undergraduate students: Tuesday, September 7, 1 p.m.
As a first-year student, you probably have questions: What is a dual-mode, virtual, synchronous or asynchronous course? What are the services offered? Who can help me when I have questions? That's why the Faculty offers a mandatory information session that will introduce you to the Faculty's services, your student association, and the resources available to help you succeed.

Information sessions on your program of study: Tuesday, September 7, 2 p.m.
Following the Faculty session, you will have the opportunity to learn more about your program of study. Your professors offer a first contact activity to allow you to ask your questions and chat with fellow students.

Instagram Lives about the student experience
Looking for tips on how to start the year right? Learn more about online learning, registering for classes, and the tools and resources you need to be successful this fall by joining our live series on Instagram. Throughout the summer, students and faculty will host sessions on the faculty Instagram account.

Meet your mentors
The role of the student mentors at the FSS Student Experience Centre is to help new students adjust to university life.
