RFS Congress 2019, Ottawa, June 13 to 16

Posted on Friday, June 29, 2018

The School of Sociological and Anthropological Studies of the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ottawa is proud to host the bi-annual Congress of the Réseau francophone de sociolinguistique (RFS) from June 13 to 16, 2019.

From one congress to another, the RFS affirms its commitment to thinking about the social character of the language. This approach makes it a network engaged in public debates around languages of schooling, spelling, state languages, migration and citizenship, and the place of languages in the market economy. With the theme "Langues de valeur et valeur des langues ", this edition of the RFS congress invites researchers to think about various aspects of the valorization and devaluation of languages.
