We are proud to announce that Professor Karine Vanthuyne’s proposal in collaboration with Professors Willow Scobie and Marie-Josée Massicotte for Alex Trebek’s Forum for Dialogue contest was just accepted. Consequently, they won a 50,000$ financing to organize a major conference and political recommendations workshops concerning mining conflicts and indigenous rights.

The conference will be taking place in November 2018 and will be called « industrie extractive, gouvernance et droits autochtones : espaces de luttes et d’innovations sociales ».

Endowed by a $5 million gift from distinguished alumnus Alex Trebek, The Alex Trebek Forum for Dialogue will enrich and broaden public debate in Canada. Opinion leaders, CEOs, government officials, foreign dignitaries and heads of state will join tomorrow’s leaders to discuss substantive public policy issues.
