Richard Clément awarded the Palmes académiques by the French governement

Richard Clément

Richard Clément, Professor at the School of Psychology and the Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute, received the Palmes académiques by the French government for his services rendered to the French culture. The award ceremony was held on Monday, March 5, 2018.

Born in Montreal, Richard Clément obtained a doctorate in psychology from the University of Western Ontario. He is currently Professor of Psychology and affiliated with the Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute. His specialities are related to language acquisition motivation, intergroup relations and communication as well as identity change and adjustment. His papers have been published ibn Europe and America, in French and in English. He was elected Fellow of the Canadian Psychological Association as well as of the American Psychological Association. In 2008 he was also elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.
