We are pleased to inform you that Philippe Mamadou Frowd will be joining the School of Political Studies as an Assistant Professor as of July 1st, 2018.
Professor Frowd’s research interests are as follows:
- Security studies - Security as a concept (and its evolution) but also as a logic of governance. He is also interested in the ways different security knowledge underpins international interventions in southern countries.
- Migration and borders - European policies of remote management of migration (i.e. their outsourcing to African countries). He is also interested in the social impacts and contexts of border control technologies.
- African politics, specifically in Sahel countries of West Africa
We wish him a warm welcome and success in his new role within our School!
