Congratulations to School of Politics master’s student Camille Denicourt-Fauvert recipient of the Canada Graduate Scholarships to Honour Nelson Mandela.  Camille’s master’s thesis discusses the causes and impacts of violence in Guatemala.

On December 11, 2013, the Prime Minister announced the creation of the Canada Graduate Scholarships to Honour Nelson Mandela (CGS to Honour Nelson Mandela). These awards celebrate Nelson Mandela’s legacy, and his tireless pursuit of peace, democracy, justice and freedom through learning, understanding and education.

The awards seek to recognize and support graduate students conducting research in one or more of five areas championed by Nelson Mandela:

  • national unity;
  • democracy, freedom and human rights;
  • leadership;
  • children’s participation in society; and
  • children’s health.
