Michaela Dworsky-Fried is PhD Student in Experimental Psychology. She completed a B.A. (Hons.) in Psychology at Queen's University. Her research examines the effects of Cerebiome on the NRLP3 inflammasome and microglia activation induced by chronic unpredictable stress. Michaela currently holds an Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS).

Pasquale is a PhD student in experimental psychology. He completed a BA in psychology at Concordia University. His research examines the interactions between the gut microbiome, immune system and neural degeneration in males and females.

Sarah is a graduate student in the Experimental Psychology program. She holds a B.A. with Honours in Psychology from McGill University. She is joining the NISE Lab under joint supervision with Dr. Nafissa Ismail and Dr. Claude Messier. Her research will examine the age and sex differences in metabolic processes in the brain following exposure to behavioural stressors and immune challenges. Sarah holds a CGS-M NSERC scholarship.

Sarah is a Ph.D. student in Experimental Psychology at the University of Ottawa. She completed her B.Sc. in Psychology and her M.Sc. in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Montreal. Her research investigates the effects of synthetic sex hormones on the gut microbiome, the brain and cognitive abilities using animal models.

Michael is a PhD Student in the Experimental Psychology program. He completed his B.Sc with Honours in Psychology at the University of Ottawa. He has currently joined the NISE laboratory under joint supervision with Dr. Claude Messier. His research is focused on the vulnerability of pubescent development to depressive symptoms after chronic sleep deprivation and the influence of blood lactate concentration on drowsiness.

Kevin Smith is PhD Student in Experimental Psychology. He completed a B.A. in Psychology at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. His research examines the effects of environmental enrichment on acute immune and stress responses and enduring changes in behavior. Kevin currently holds an Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS).
