Jennifer Wallner appointed new Jean-Luc Pepin Research Chair

We are pleased to announce that Jennifer Wallner has been selected as the new Jean-Luc Pepin Research Chairholder. Her term will start as of July 1st, 2020 and end June 30, 2023.

The Jean-Luc Pepin Research Chair (JLP) was established in memory of its namesake’s dedication to Canadian politics as a practitioner and as a professor. The JLP Research Chair is engaged in the study of Canadian political institutions and their transformation in light of the changing conditions and practices of contemporary democratic governance.

Jennifer Wallner is currently an associate professor in the School of Political Studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences at uOttawa. Her research focuses on federalism, comparative provincial politics and intergovernmental relations. Professor Wallner was also the lead in launching the IMPACT initiative in 2019, a project that aims to develop a platform to help promote research at FSS and work to advance a new model for policy development in Canada. As Chairholder, Jennifer Wallner will pursue an agenda that sets out to innovate and diversify the study of politics in Canada.
