In December 2020, the Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities announced an historic $50 million investment in the form of the Virtual Learning Strategy (VLS), a strategy whose goal is drive growth and advancement in virtual learning in post-secondary institutions. Following the call for Expressions of Interest by eCampus Ontario, six projects submitted by researchers from the Faculty of Social Sciences were awarded funding for a total investment of nearly $650,000.
