
We are pleased to inform you that Professor Eric Champagne has been appointed Director of the Centre on Governance. Professor Champagne’s mandate is for a period of three years, from July 1st, 2018 to June 30, 2021.
Eric Champagne is an Associate Professor in Public Administration at the School of Political Studies at the University of Ottawa. His areas of teaching focus on public sector management and governance, program evaluation, public policy development along with globalization & continental integration. He is currently managing four research programs: multi-level governance in Canada (the relationship between the federal, provincial and municipal) in infrastructures and transportation (funded by SSHRC); public sector reforms in developing countries (decentralization, public finance, policy implementation); governance and instruments of public finance management; and the impact of new public governance on social innovation in minority groups in Canada.

The mandate of the Centre on Governance is to work with organizations to better understand governance mechanisms in order to analyze implementation problems and provide better services. To fulfil its mandate, the Center on Governance analyses governance phenomena in the public, private and social sectors in a context of cross-sectoral and inter-governmental collaboration.
