The Faculty of Social Sciences is proud to congratulate the uOttawa Gee-Gees women's soccer team for their outstanding victory at the 2019 FISU World University Cup. The team won the game with a score of 1-0 (scored by Mikayla Morton) against the Brazil’s Paulista University.

This was the first-ever soccer edition of the FISU World University Cup, and it brought together, in Jianjiang, China, the best universities in the world, based on their performance in 2018. From November 21st to December 1st 2019, there were 16 men's teams and 8 women’s teams who competed for both cups.

It is with even more pride that the FSS highlights 7 of its student-athletes who were part of the champion delegation:

  • Mikayla Morton (Psychology)
  • Trinity Jazya Alma Esprit (Sociology)
  • Hailey Christina Walsh (Psychology)
  • Soumaya Bouak (Psychology)
  • Julia Margaret Maria Tardioli (Psychology)
  • Delaney Marie Rickert-Hall (Psychology)

Once again, congratulations to the whole team!
