Announcing the new Jean-Luc Pepin Research Chair: François Rocher

We are pleased to announce that François Rocher has just been selected as the new Jean-Luc Pepin Research Chairholder. His term will start as of July 1st, 2018 until June 30, 2021.

The Jean-Luc Pepin Research Chair (JLP) was established in memory of its namesake’s dedication to Canadian politics as a practitioner and as a professor. The JLP Research Chair is engaged in the study of Canadian political institutions and their transformation in light of the changing conditions and practices of contemporary democratic governance.

François Rocher is currently a Full Professor in the School of Political Studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ottawa. His research interests are Canadian federalism, constitutional politics, immigration and citizenship, and nationalism and multinationalism in the Canadian context.
