Coordinator of the LISF and member of the Editorial Review Board of the newly created Canadian Food Studies Journal. Marie-Josée is also member of theObservatoire sur la souveraineté alimentaire (CÉRIUM, REDTAC), located at the Université de Montréal. She is working on global politics, social movements and food sovereignty. Her current research is looking at Brazilian and Mexican peasant movements fighting for the implementation of alternative agricultural pratices and modes of economic development, based on social and environmental justice. She is also co- editor of the book entitled Globalization and Food Sovereignty, to be publishedat University of Toronto Press.

José López’s current research is located at the intersection of the sociology of Human Rights and Food Studies, particularly the Political Economy of Food. His SSHRC funded research is concerned with mapping the emergence and exploring the efficacy of the Human Right to Food.
