Welcome to the Human Sexuality Research Laboratory at the University of Ottawa!
Sexuality can be an enriching experience and is a major factor in the quality of life of most people. But - sexuality can also be fraught with anxiety, embarrassment, and concerns about performance. For some individuals, sexual problems become an important source of psychological distress and relationship problems. Sexuality is a universal human experience, but comparatively little rigorous research has been conducted in understanding sexuality and its problems. The Human Sexuality Research Laboratory is dedicated to the scientific study of developmental and cultural factors in sexuality and factors that contribute to the development and maintenance of sexual dysfunction.
Another study explores the experiences of women in intimate relationships. Women invited to participate need to be 50 years and older, in a long-term, intimate relationship, fluent in English, and live in Canada. The questionnaire is anonymous and confidential but if you wish, you can contact the reseatcher to win a draw for Tim Horton's Gift Cards.
