The Centre on Governance participates in the University of Reims Summer School, France
The Centre on Governance was pleased to be one of the partners of the University of Reims Summer School organized by the French Society of Public Finances (Société Française de Finances Publiques) which was held in Reims, France from July 1 to 3, 2021. This international event organized by Professor Marc Leroy, University of Reims (CRDT) and Vice-President of the Société Française de Finances Publiques (SFFP) had as its main theme Crisis/Crises and Public Finances. Professor Geneviève Tellier, Director of the Centre's research network on Governance and Public Finance, Professor Eric Champagne, Director of the Centre, as well as Aracelly Denise Granja, research assistant at the Centre and doctoral student in political science were invited to present their work. Professor Tellier and Professor Champagne were also members of the Scientific Committee for the event.
More than thirty professors and researchers from France and abroad contributed to the knowledge exchange on the various aspects of the conference theme. Geneviève Tellier gave a presentation on "Crises as Seen by Political Scientists" while Eric Champagne and Aracelly Denise Granja presented the results of their research on "Public Investments in Times of Crisis in Canada." Their research was recently published in the special issue of the academic journal Revue Gestion et Finances Publiques (No. 4, July-August 2021).
As a partner of this conference, the Centre on Governance will continue this collaboration by consolidating an already existing research network in the field of public finance governance between the University of Reims and the University of Ottawa.
