Éric Champagne, professor at the School of Political Studies, receives the Community Service Learning Program Outstanding Achievement Award.

Each year, the Community Service Learning (CSL) Program highlights one professor's exceptional work accomplished through the CSL program.

In the fall 2014 term, Éric Champagne taught Principles, Processes and Methods of Evaluation (PAP4710) within the French stream and integrated Community Service Learning (CSL) into the course. As part of the course's CSL component, students were required to conduct a real-life program evaluation for a local non-profit organization; according to students in the course, this assignment was the perfect balance between theory and practice.

A total of six students submitted separate nominations highlighting the many reasons they felt Professor Champagne deserved the CSL Outstanding Achievement Award in the Professor Category. They cited reasons that included his genuine interest in seeing his students develop career-related skills, as well as his constant support and involvement during the course.

In the end, his students delivered an excellent product to their community partners, and Professor Champagne's outstanding work certainly resonated with his students, many of whom expressed their gratitude by nominating him for this award!
