Created in 2016, the International solidarity network – Women in urban and peri-urban agriculture is the result of a research program led by Full Professor Andrea Martinez in collaboration with a research team from the Social-Technology Incubator of the Federal University of Ottawa. Pernambuco (Brazil). With financial support from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (2016-2019), the Network aims to develop and share knowledge on the social and solidarity economy (SSE) from a decolonial feminist perspective. In particular, are explored the results, lessons and challenges of strategic alliances between women active in urban and peri-urban agricultural associations (AUP) in northeastern Brazil and other members of the SSE to promote inclusive citizenship.
