The School of Sociological and Anthropological Studies at the University of Ottawa offers a distinctive and innovative approach to culture and society, in both French and English.   • A student discusses the SOC2708 course (Sociologie des communautés francophones en situation minoritaire du Canada), the Minor in Sociology and the "ÉÉSA" in an interview with the Manitoba Francophone media (Radio-Canada).

  • On 23 September 2014, The School of sociological and anthropological studies and the Research Chair of Taïwan Studies have jointly organized a conference of the new
    Ambassador Bruce Linghu about Diaoyutai / Senkaku Islands. The sovereignty of
    these islands is disputed by Japan, Taiwan, and China. The Ambassador presented
    the historical reasoning of his government in this regard, and Professor Scott Simon analyzed the conflict from the perspective of anthropological theory of sovereignty.

  • The School of Sociological and Anthropological Studies offers the most sincere congratulations to Professor Elke Winter for her election to the College of New Scholars, Artist and Scientist of the Royal Society of Canada.
